Departure album (and story, for sure)

Well just now I looked back at some photos of my departure day album - 10th Feb 2010

before I tell more about Sydney, let me refresh some good old times with my family members at the airport. (don't remind me of the day I burst in front of you guys haha)

Mi familia - well obviously I don't have everyone in the picture, cause it will not fit the lens. ramaiiii gila special people in my life!

I miss these kiddies muchoz. rindu dengar dorang bising2, suruh dukung, suruh belanja. haha Girls, do you miss your Aunt Min here? hehe

Inside plane story

honestly, I don't sleep much. ada tidur kejap-kejap, tapi paling lama pun was just 2hours long. I've always enjoy flying. So I think it's a lost kalau tak enjoy the journey (tapi memang tak nampak apa2 pun dari atas, sebab malam). Alhamdulillah, the flight journey was fine. takde turbulence ke apa ke. cuma, I don't feel comfortable in that lounge suit. Cause I had been wearing them since 3pm the previous day. rimasss! lebih 12 jam dalam baju yang tebal, besar, londeh (okay, dan masam). tak selesa!!

untuk elak kebosanan (dan ketidakselesaan), I walked back and forth to the toilet. couple of times. sampai kawan2 pelik 'apasal ko pergi toilet banyak kali'. haha to be frank, I don't really 'do business' dalam tu. (faham2 je la ye haha). pergi sebab betulkan tudung. pastu, pergi lagi sebab basuh tangan. pastu pergi lagi sebab bosan. pastu pergi lagi sebab amik air semayang (Subuh dalam flight). pastu okay. memang seriously, pergi toilet banyak kali. hahah

the best part was, Abang Ali (my brother-in-law's brother) was on duty - in the same flight! hehe. mula-mula tegur dia.

me: Abang Ali kan? adik Abg Ma.
Abg Ali: Ha ah, mana ko tahu?
me: Adik yong laaaa
Abg Ali: Laa yong tak cakap pun ko fly malam ni! okay ko dok sini diam2 dulu.

lepas tu, few times dia datang bagi hot milo, extraaaa food and first class travel kit (ada lip balm, hand lotion, hand wash, socks, toothbrush, macam2! best sangat! sempat juga sembang dengan dia.



Arrival - touchdown at 9am (11th Feb 2010)

Alhamdulillah, we arrived safely in Sydney. It was around 10am lepas kitorang lalui imigresen semua kat sana. Luckily, they didn't check my luggage satu-satu, sebab dia cakap 'You are here to study, it's okay love, go through'.

Pastu our co-ordinator was there (Dr Pamela) waiting at the bus to bring us to our accommodation (and uni!). We pass through the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The first time I see it, I was like --- 'I'm really here, Sydney, and that's not a postcard pic' --- I was stunned.

I think that's all for now. So the journey from the departure day has begun. It feels like yesterday that I left Malaysia. and left everyone I love there. But trust me. You are always in my heart.

Info about Sydney

hello people back home, i miss you! (whoever you are, i don't care)

a brief info about Sydney



1 - It is GMT +10 which makes here 2 hours earlier than my homeland.

few days after arrival, i experienced sleeping disorder. i tend to sleep late, and woke up late (my body still followed Malaysia's time). and maybe I was jetlagged too.

2- The weather really IS unpredictable.
before our arrival here, Dr Pamela (our coordinator from Macquarie Uni) told us few times that the weather here is unpredictable.
it can be hot at times and cold at the other.
-yelah, kalau kat Malaysia, kalau panas, memang seharian panas, bila mendung, confirm hujan kan -
tapi it's a whole different thing in Sydney. siang leh jadi sangat terik 30deg, tapi malam leh jadi sangat sejuk. around 20deg.
mula-mula kena adapt lah jugak weather macam ni, even few of my friends fall sick.
alhamdulillah, I'm doing good until now.

3- For those who don't know, the currency exchange rate is 1AUdollar - RM3.09 (latest, 2nd March).
however, if you have some Ringgit notes and want to buy Aussie Dollar here, it is wayyyyy more expensive than Malaysia's rate.
kalau bank kat sini 1AUD - RM3.4*. mahal betul.
I actually have another 100 MYR notes, tapi kalau tuka macam dapat sikit sangat je, so I decided to keep it.
(boleh la buat tambang teksi kot2 nak surprise balik Malaysia nanti haha)

4- It is very green here!
Dorang memang encourage us to sit and lie on the grass, have picnic and even hug the trees.
and the grasses here, sangat bersih!

If you know me well, I'm so phobia with bugs or any kinds of animals.

but here, they are hardly to be seen.
I mean, yeah i lied down on the grass few times already without feeling scared of bugs.
How cool is that? :D

I think that's all for now. It is so hard to wake up early here. Cause it's usually cold in the morning. will talk more about Sydney and uni's life later, cheers, mate!

hello everyone!

this blog is dedicated especially to my family and friends back in Malaysia, who has been longing to hear bout me here. Wait, I know you don't really want to know how I am doing here, but all you want to know is bout Sydney, aite mate?? :p
